Fundraising for North West Air Ambulance

In April we announced our charity partner for the next (financial) year. Following on from fundraising for Bay Search and Rescue, we started to support another life-saving charity, North West Air Ambulance.

The charity provide advanced medical crew and equipment to patients when they need it most and are fully-funded by donations. With two bases (Barton and Blackpool) and a fleet of three helicopters, the charity have the challenging task of raising £9.5 million per year to provide their support to patients from Cheshire, right the way up into Cumbria.

Reaching our fundraising halfway point in September, we’ve crossed the treacherous Morecambe Bay sands, ran the Virtual London Marathon through the Lake District Hills and replenished a tuck shop packed with tasty treats – flapjack, fizzy pop and chocolate bars being our best sellers!

Speaking about our partnership, our managing director, Kate Houlden said;

“Every year our team vote for which local charity they would like to support and I am delighted with this year’s choice. To think that the NWAA doesn’t receive any government or NHS funding and relies on the efforts of fundraisers and events like the Cross Bay Walk is astonishing. We are proud to provide even the smallest of support we can to the charity over the next year and I know our team have some fun fundraising ideas up their sleeves.”
