Continuous Learning
Continuous learning is something that just happens at Like Technologies, except it doesn’t ‘just happen’. We’ve worked hard to create an environment where it thrives, where people ask for help, are open to learning new things and are generous in sharing their knowledge. It happens formally, and informally, throughout the business and it’s something we’re really proud of.
Most recently, some members of the workshop team recently completed IPC training with Tech Lancaster;
J-STD IPC (Requirements for Soldering Electrical and Electronic Assemblies)
IPC 771/7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies)
IPC CID (Certified Interconnected Designer)
Speaking about the training the team said;
“I really enjoyed the IPC J-STD course. It covered all the techniques I use at work and more. There were also some tips during the practical sessions which will be very useful going forward. Overall I feel that the course has strengthened my skills and confidence.”
“I enjoyed the IPC-7711/7721 course because it strengthened my practical rework and repair skills, and it is important to my role as an electronics technician as it ensures I can carry out high-quality, reliable repairs in line with industry standards.”
“The IPC CID qualification has boosted my confidence in working on more complex systems, and given me an understanding of the factors affecting all stages of design and production of electronic products”
Working within repairs means we can often receive something we’ve not worked on before but our skill set means we’re able to do it. Working predominantly within Nuclear, we’ve recently had the opportunity to support a well established slate and stone company as their manufacturing process incorporates several legacy industrial machines that remain critical to the production of their architectural slate and stone products. A new industry we’re working with them to learn how we can continue to provide long‑term support for their equipment and operations.
