INNOVATION at Like Technologies

In our company meeting earlier this month, Melvin demonstrated the Relay Test Box that our hardware and software engineers have been working on. Unique in that it can analyse relays and produce a digital visual report, it is currently used to test Clifford and Snell D2600 and D2900 however it is not limited to these and can be programmed to test other relays.

Receiving an order from a client last year, we saw the opportunity to make a number of improvements and additions to the original relay test box we designed a decade agoThis latest version can;

  • Detect coil position and voltage, AC or DC
  • Detect diodes and their orientation
  • Detect coil function, such as Standard operation and Latching
  • Electrical reset
  • Mechanical reset
  • Timer – Delayed operation and Delayed release
  • Detect contact position and function
  • Determine operating and release time
  • Determine operating and release voltage
  • Measure contact resistance
  • Electrically clean contacts

The first order has now been delivered and we’re just about to start work on the next set of test boxes after speaking with a number of interested parties. If you came over to see us at the recent Nu-Tech event at Birchwood Nuclear Hub in Warrington, Graham or Andy may have given you a demonstration. We’ll be there again in September, and Heysham in July, if you want to see the relay test box yourself.

If you can’t make it to the events then why not consider visiting us? We’ve got people coming in to have a tour of the workshop and to have a demo of our Relay Test Box.
